Things to do in Livingstone

During my short time in Livingstone, I did a lot of amazing experiences but thankfully, I had a lot of friends there who stayed longer and did activities I didn't have time to accomplish. So here ladies and gents, I have compiled the 'Things to do in Livingstone' list, based on both what I did myself and what my friends did to make sure your trip to the magnificent Falls is simply FAB!

Now in no particular order....

1.The first thing you must do, is go to the  Victoria Falls NP, explore the paths, hike up the trails, watch out for snakes and hippos, cross the bridge and make sure a baboon doesn't steal your lunch!
After hiking to the top of the Falls and nearly losing my flip flop over the edge.
2. Go to the Zimbabwean side of the Falls for even better views of the Falls (who knew it was even possible?!) You have to pay for a Zim visa and make sure you get a multiple entry visa in Zambia though. But, time and time again, I'm told how amazing the Zim side is to view the Falls as you get an even better perspective of the sheer size of the Falls.

3. Do the Bungee Jump! A 111m drop into the croc infested Zambezi followed by sheer elation once finished. I wish I'd attempted it now but, I still think anyone who does it is simply out of their mind.
View from the jumping platform
4. Go White Water Rafting. The six gorges around the Falls have some of the best rapids in the World for rafters. When we arrived, the water levels were too high so the rafting wasn't running but, the prices are decent for what you're getting and...IT'S WHITE WATER RAFTING IN THE ZAMBEZI RIVER. Get what I mean here?

5. Take a Helicopter or MicroLight flight over the Falls. This gives you a different perspective of the Falls and the neighbouring gorges, and also if you've never been in a helicopter, can you think of a better place to take your first one?! Erm, no!
Just chilling, in a helicopter, above Victoria Falls

6. Go on a Sunset River Cruise. The Lady Livingstone boat departs each evening, going around Livingstone Island, for $30 you get your evening meal and....free alcohol. All night. If this is the end of your trip, it's a great way to end, and there's a high chance of seeing elephants, cape buffalo and hippos etc on the river banks in the evening.

7. Go to Chobe National Park. This park is the very peak of Botswana and easily accessible from Livingstone. I'd recommend taking both a game drive and river cruise. Under no circumstances miss the river cruise, it's AMAZING, I must have saw about 40 elephants and babies both on the river banks and in the river itself, a herd of hippos, moniter lizards, crocodiles, cape buffalo, fishing eagles and even more, all in just an hour! It's also at evening, so you watch the sunset from the boat, amazing!
Just some of the elephants...some.

There's many other great activities on offer around Livingstone, from walking with lions, elephant back safaris to Devils Pool but these are what I'd personally recommend, whatever you choose, Livingstone will not disappoint!
